James S. Hirsch
James S. Hirsch is a best-selling author whose current book is Cheating Destiny: Living with Diabetes, America’s Biggest Epidemic. (Houghton Mifflin). He is also a principal at CloseConcerns, a diabetes consulting firm. Hirsch is a former reporter with the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. His other books are Hurricane: The Miraculous Journey of Rubin Carter, Riot and Remembrance: The Worse Race War and Its Legacy, and Two Souls Indivisible: The Friendship That Saved Two POWs in Vietnam.
